The premier feature of the Olympic Oval’s 25th anniversary celebrations was a commemorative coffee table book — The Fastest Ice in the World™: Celebrating our 25-year legacy.
The 120-page hard-cover coffee table book is a mix of old and new photos, facts, stats and stories that document the achievements of the athletes, coaches and the behind-the-scenes staff, as well as provide a snapshot of the modern history of speed skating.
Mention of all 282 world records set in the facility, and a summary of the speed skating competitions at the last 7 Winter Olympic Games will satisfy the statisticians; and the intimate, previously untold stories will warm hearts … and fire up Canadian patriotism just in time for the Winter Games in Sochi, Russia.
